The World Speed Sailing Challenge is an event by invitation only and not an open competition format. It is not aimed to produce a ranking known to racing circuits, but is solely intended to produce the fastest sailor alive in untouched natural environments.

Only the very best race teams with a proven track record and having qualified themselves over the past will have a realistic chance to break the current world record of 46.52 knots and possibly the magic 50 knots barrier, making this event truly one of a kind.
